Story of stuff

There is an interesting and thought provoking video from ‘The Story of Stuff‘. It has got 2 million hits already. To all those who are environment conscious it is a must watch and to those who are not, i recommend them to spare 20 min of their time. I assure that it is worth the watch.

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something, it’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.

Moved to WordPress

After pondering for sometime, i decided to move to wordpress from vox. It is a very tedious process because i can’t import my posts from vox to wordpress. Hence i have to copy the posts manually which took some time. But i am impressed with the look and feel of wordpress. There is an element of personalized look and feel for wordpress which is totally lacking in vox. Vox looks cluttered and there are unwarranted ads which are really annoying. The only advantage with Vox is that you can edit and publish your posts with ease and there are certain other advantages such as setting the privacy level for posts. This feature is missing in both wordpress and in blogspot.

Right now, i am happy with my decision.
